Friday May 30th a number of our members were at Jackie Robinson Ball Park including some who were there working with Child Evangelism. I asked Mark Robb to tell us a little abut Child Evangelism’s ministry in our community. He wrote: 

Child Evangelism Fellowship is a worldwide ministry to children with a special emphasis on the 80% of America’s children who do not attend church. Our purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God and establish them in a Church home for Christian living. So where are the 80%?  Public elementary schools, YMCA’s, Boys and Girls clubs, neighborhoods. 

Friday May 30th CEF was at Jackie Robinson Ball Park and had the priviledge of sharing the gospel using a method called the Wordless Book. With this a series of colors are used to share the gospel, this was done by painting the colors on the childs face. Each color represents a different part of the gospel presentation. Gold is all about God and His love, Dark is all about Sin and how it separates us from God, Red is who Jesus is and what He did, Clean is the type of heart we can have because of what Jesus did, and finally Green helps us to know when we become God’s child he wants us to grow. This last friday 115 children got to hear this important message and 17 of them prayed to recieve Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Lindsey Heiser from Christ Community was at the ball park last Friday working as a face-painter. Opportunities: Work at a local Good News Club during the school year (CCC has adopted LongStreet Elementary but 21 other schools have clubs and need workers). Host a 5-Day club in your neighborhood this summer. Be trained as a face-painter to be used at events throughout the year including the Volusia County Fair where over 2400 children were painted last year.
